My fashion crush this week is someone that I’m sure all of my friends have been expecting. She is my personal style icon, and I’m pretty sure if she would let me we could be best friends. Of course I’m talking about Rachel Zoe.

She is the epitome of bohemian chic, a mother of two boys, and the head of her own empire. She started as a stylist and is now known around the world for not only her fashion sense, but for her own clothing brand. She is everything I admire. She’s not afraid of a sequin or of draping herself in statement jewelry. And if you know me, I’m cut from the exact same fur vest cloth. She is always dressed amazingly well, but never comes off as being over dressed. She never comes off as being unapproachable and I admire that. Fur coats and vests, wide legged or bell bottom jeans, hats, scarves, Chanel jackets, sunglasses and the perfect blowout are all some Rachel Zoe staples.

I love that she has her own very well known type of style, but can see past what she would personally wear and can dress her clients according to what works for them. After all of these years, she’s not blinded by trends. She sticks to what has always worked and constantly updates those pieces. That’s a smart cookie. Plus she shows women that not only can you have a husband and children along with a career, you can build your own brand and empire. If I could get my grubby mitts on anyone’s closet it would be this ladies. Yes, she may have a very California girl way of speaking (sunnies and bananas anyone?) but I don’t care. Any mother that can carry her son in Brian Atwood six inch over the knee wedge boots has my attention. She’s always a woman on the go, and it works for her.

I usually don’t pay that close of attention to how someone’s style evolves, but I will with her. She always adds a new tweak here and there, but never totally loses what she became known for. A refined, Chanel infused version of bohemian chic.
