Have you ever wondered how people see you or what vibe you give off? Well, the color that you are wearing when you meet someone can speak volumes about your personality and about the mood you’re in. Pretty cool, right? Let’s take a look and see what your favorite color says about you.
Blue
The positives to wearing blue are that it stands for tranquility, love, loyalty, security, trust, and intelligence. The negatives are that it also gives off coldness, fear, and masculinity. So if you really enjoy wearing blue then try to mix some warm jewelry in with it. Silver can make it appear more cold. In short: blue can be calming yet icy.
Red
Red gives off love, energy, power, strength, passion and heat. The negatives to red are that it also stands for anger, danger and warning. Red is a sexy and powerful color though, and is said to be the color that a mans eye will go to first. So if you’re single and ready to mingle, throw that red dress on. In short: red is sexy and dangerous.
Green
Green stands for money, growth, fertility, freshness and healing. To some people though it can give off envy, jealousy and guilt. So if you have an upcoming court date, maybe don’t wear that green shirt that you were going to. In short: green says fresh or freshly out of jail.
Pink
Pink is a color that first and foremost screams femininity. Some of the other things that people feel from this color are health, happiness, compassion, sweetness and playfulness. The downside to wearing pink is that some people see it as weak and immature. Probably because it’s always used and associated with little girls. In short: pink makes people think of three year old girls.
Purple
People associate the color purple with royalty, nobility, spirituality, luxury and ambition. On the negative side of all of those, some people associate it with mystery and moodiness. Not bad, purple. Not bad at all. In short: people will mistake you for the Duchess of Cambridge.
Yellow
The positive connotations to yellow are bright, energy, sun, creativity, intellect and happy. There is a lot of strong energy in the color yellow. It definitely turns heads when you wear it. Don’t cover yourself in it though because it can also give off that you are irresponsible or unstable. In short: yellow is happy and flaky.
Turquoise
Turquoise means spiritual, healing, protection and sophistication. So if you ever need a little extra protection mix in a little turquoise jewelry into your ensemble. It also gives off envy and femininity. In short: turquoise is a bohemian minx.
Orange
When you wear orange, people see courage, confidence, friendliness and success. On the negative side though they also pull ignorant and sluggish vibes from this color. In short: orange can say you’re confidant or a jerk. Or a confident jerk.
Silver
Silver throws off glamour, high tech, gracefulness, and sleekness. It’s more of a fashion color so its going to stand out a bit more than the others. It’s negatives are that it can also mean that you are a dreamer and are insecure. In short: silver is costumey.
Gold
When someone looks at you while you are wearing a lot of gold, they think wealth, prosperity, valuable and unattainable. It can also tell people that you are greedy or are a bit of a dreamer. Great. Gold is my favorite color for an accessory. Sorry to all of you that look at me and think any of those things when I’m covered in it. I just prefer it because it warms my cold lizard skin up. I can’t wear silver without looking grey. In short: gold is awesome lol.
Brown
People see the color brown as friendly, earth, outdoors, longevity and conservative. You will give off more of a down to earth vibe. It can also say dogmatic and conservative. So if you find yourself wearing a lot of brown, then try to mix in a brighter color for a little kick. In short: brown is safe and easy.
Tan Or Beige
When you wear tan or beige people are not going to think that you are a raging party animal. They see dependable, flexible, crisp and conservative. It’s not a very wild and showy color. People also see it as dull, boring and conservative. When I wear beige I prefer to mix it with some black so that it doesn’t come off as too boring. In short: tan or beige are boring and conservative yet classic.
Grey
Grey can give off security, reliability, intelligence, and solid. I would have to say grey would be a great color for a job interview. The negatives are gloomy, sad and conservative. If you mixed some tan or beige with grey you could come off as the most conservative person in the world….if that’s what you’re into. In short: grey is your husband, reliable and conservative.
Black
I know a lot of women that wear a lot of black. Not only is it the most slimming color, but it says protection, dramatic, class and formality. That’s when it’s worn the right way. Too much black can give off a gothic vibe and can represent death, evil and mystery. In short: black is the Angelina Jolie of the color world.
White
I always gravitate towards white. Mainly because it mixes well with everything. People associate it with goodness, innocence, purity, fresh, easy and clean……if you can actually keep the white you’re wearing clean. It also says winter, cold and distant. In short: white is angelic unless you dump red wine on yourself.
I never really realized that people can judge you by what color you’re wearing. Makes sense though, a lot of them judge you by everything else so why not the color of your damn shirt. With that being said, now that you know the connotations that each color can have, try using them to your advantage. Now you know that your little red dress screams sexy. Or that your little black dress says that you’re mysterious. Whatever helps a girl out, right? Plus different colors can actually make you feel a certain way when you wear them. If you’re already depressed then keep that grey sweater in the closet and maybe try a more cheerful or relaxed color. What are your favorite colors to wear or what colors do you feel the best in? Everyone feels best in different things, and I would love to know what makes you feel great. Don’t be shy either, unless you’re in head to toe beige right now. Then I understand completely.
