Sequins, feathers, high wasted pants, fur, stoned love, and more sequins. This weeks fashion crush is the uber talented and beautiful Diana Ross. She has partied with the likes of Cher and Elton John and managed to STILL be the sparkliest one in the room. That deserves a round of applause in itself.
Her looks and style are something to be absolutely admired and her talent made her an icon. I love how she didn’t believe in the word excessive. If she liked it, she wore it. Fearless fashion. Plus, if you’ve ever looked at photos of Diana dancing at Studio 54, she looked like a really fun time! She always had a super glam vibe even if she was dancing in high wasted pants and a simple top. But in my heart I will always picture her as the utter glamazon woman that you’ve seen performing on stage. Big hair, a sequined dress, full makeup and jewels backing up one of the most beautiful voices of all time.
Thanks to her, a lot of little girls got their first tastes of glamour. Singing “Stop In The Name Of Love” into a hairbrush in front of a mirror didn’t turn you into Diana Ross. But if it gets me one step closer I would still do it right now……except now I’m smart enough to accompany it with a wig and a sequined dress.
