I was looking around earlier and I discovered that I had about one million candles that were one burn from being done. I have a hard time throwing old candles out because I usually buy them for their pretty jars. Well, now you can save those jars. It’s pretty simple to clean out the old wax. Just follow these quick steps.image

1. Place candle with old wax in the freezer overnight.
2. The next morning, take a knife and simply pop out the leftover wax. It should come out quite easily.
3. Wash out the candle holder with hot, soapy water.
4. Decide what you are going to do with your beautiful, new, clean jar!

Now, if you’re wondering “what in the sweet fuck am I going to do with this now?”, then just hold on and don’t take that tone with me. You can do lots of different things with your repurposed candle holders. Why don’t you try some of these ideas.image

1. Use them as small coffee table vases.
2. Hold your makeup brushes with them.
3. Keep them in the bathroom for Q-tips or cotten balls.
4. Plant seeds in them for succulents or your flower of choice (this one is great for kids because the planters are small, manageable, and can be kept on your windowsill).
5. Make labels for them and use them in the kitchen for spices.
6. Keep them as decorative containers to hold your tea bags or loose tea.
7. Spray paint and glue figurines onto the lids For your child’s room.
8. Fill with Epsom salt or bath salts and place on the side of your tub.
9. Two words ladies: hair ties. Keep them in there.
10. Put electric tea lights in them and hang them from your trees when you’re having a night out sitting on the deck. Bonus: you won’t burn your tree down.image

There are lots of ways you can reuse your old candle jars. You just need to get a little creative. On the plus side, it’s a great craft to involve the kids in. Well, that and it’s super simple and easy to do with barely any clean up. Now you’ll take even longer deciding what kind of candles to buy since you’ll be eyeing up which jars will work the best in your house! Have fun!
