I don’t usually like anything too gimmicky. I’ve fallen for fancy packaging one too many times in my life. Especially with nail products. It seems that the fancier it appears, the less it follows through. Or as I like to call it “all show and no go”. Which is why I’m so pleased with all of the Ciate specialty nail kits. They are all designed to give a different manicure and I’ve tried them all with pretty good results.

Ciate Caviar Manicure

These sets come in all different colors. It comes with a base polish and then your caviar beads. You simply apply the base and while the nail polish is still tacky pour some of the beads on and gently press into the polish. Voila! Don’t expect it to last longer than four days though. Especially at the tips of your nails. But with that easy of a process you can quickly do a touch up if need be.

Ciate Velvet Manicure

These kits come with a colored polish and a tube of powdered velvet. You paint your nails the base color and then sprinkle some of the powder on top. Using a mini version of a blush brush that also comes in the kit, you gently sweep the powder across your full nail. The end results are a beautiful, matte, velvet finish. If you really love the outcome, you might want to consider wearing rubber gloves while doing dishes. Water really wears this one down fast.

Ciate Feather Manicure

These come with a polish and feathers. You apply your base coat, place feather onto nail while polish is still tacky, trim feather so it fits well and follow with a couple coats over it with clear polish. The results are very boho and very beautiful.

Ciate Denim Manicure

This was one of my favorites. It’s a little more advanced than the other kits, but it yielded amazing results. You paint your nails the special denim blue provided. Then you cut the nail tattoos that look like seams to fit your nail. You apply them with water like you would a fake tattoo. They even give you white and a yellow gold to use to mimic your actual denim. Then when that step is dry, you use nail glue to add the special copper looking rivets. In the end your nails definatly have a denim effect that is worth the extra work.

Ciate Sequin Manicure

These kits also come in numerous shades and have great results. You receive a colored nail polish and a pot of glitter in mixed colors. This kit is great for achieving an accent nail that really stands out. You paint your nails with the colored polish and choose the nail you want to accent. Simply dip that nail while its still wet into the glitter pot. You might want to tap the excess glitter off over the garbage though or it will haunt your floor for the next year. Apply a top coat when done to help it stick around longer.

Ciate Foil Manicure

Out of all of these kits which I have personally tried, this one gave me the worst results. It could have been me though so if you have tried it before please feel free to post how yours went. These kits come with multiple pieces of thin foil in different effects and a colored polish. You paint your nails with the colored polish and wait for them to be dry. Then place dots of the glue provided onto the nail and wait for it to be tacky. Place the foil you choose over the glue and it should leave the color behind. Almost like a goldleaf result. You can layer different colors and textures of foil to get a unique result every time. Unless your me that is, because I couldn’t for the life of me get the foil to stick. So my results were swearing and a very unladylike fit being thrown by a crazy person with smudged, glue covered nails.

All of these kits can be purchased at Sephora. They are a little pricey but they last forever and do give a beautiful, wow worthy manicure. Also, they release different limited addition kits every once and a while. So keep your eyes open. They are definatly worth a try.
