When it comes to perfume, I can never have enough. I have some quirks though when it comes to purchasing it. First of all, I absolutely refuse to buy celebrity perfumes (unless I really love the smell of it). I’m sorry Beyonce, but I don’t think you need my seventy dollars. I’m pretty sure you’re set in the game of life. Secondly, there is always a wall filled with a million perfume selections. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a terrible shopper. So there is no way I’m smelling more than ten perfumes. Don’t get me wrong, I peruse enough to walk out smelling like I just attended a hooker party, but there is no way in hell I’m taking the time to smell a large portion of them. If you’re the same way, its ok! It doesn’t mean that you are destined to wander the world not being doused in perfume of your own. This is the reason why there are the standby’s. Otherwise known as the best selling perfumes ever. Those kind of sales can’t be wrong, and it cuts down the list of perfumes to try to find your own signature scent. Happy perfume hunting!

1- Chanel No.5

This fragrance has been around since its launch in 1921. With notes of vanilla, may rose, and jasmine it is know as being one of the most famous scents of all time.

2- Shalimar By Guerlain

This scent was created in 1925 and is another classic fragrance. It is a more romantic scent powered by iris, rose, vanilla, and jasmine.

3- Poison By Christian Dior

This perfume had its launch in 1985 and has been going strong ever since. It can be described as warm, spicy and luxurious because of its use of coriander and tuberose.

4- L’Air Du Temps By Nina Ricci

This perfume made its debut in 1948 and is still very popular. It is said to be one of the most feminine and purest scents ever made thanks to a blend of gardenia, rose, musk, and sandalwood.

5- Classique By Jean Paul Gaultier

This is one of my favorite perfumes. It’s smell is as distinct as the corset shaped bottle that it comes in. It is very sexy and seductive because of the blend of rose, pear, orchid and orange blossom used.

6- Coco Mademoiselle By Chanel

Launched as a tribute to Coco Chanel, this perfume that was launched in only 2001 became a perfume powerhouse. It is now one of the labels best selling perfumes because of its light and elegant scent that comes from notes of morning rose, jasmine, vanilla and mandarin.

7- Opium By Yves Saint Laurent

This sensual perfume that was released in 1977 has been likened to the act of falling in love. It gets its rich notes from plum, clove, rose, peach, amber and jasmine (to name a few). It has a unique spicy oriental smell that keeps making it fly off the shelves.

8- Youth Dew By Estée Lauder

This was the company’s first scent ever released, and has so far sold more than 250 million bottles. This is due to the crisp and luxurious scent that comes from peach, bergamot, cinnamon, ylang-ylang, rose and lily of the valley.

9- Eau Dynamisante By Clarins

This perfume hit the scene in 1987 and shook the perfume world upside down. Blending scents like lemon, orange, and rosemary, it was the first perfume ever to provide benefits for the skin by only using essential oils.

10- Calvin Klein Euphoria

This modern scent is seductive and unexpected. The mix of black orchid, pomegranate, mahogany wood, amber, and violet produce a scent that is sexy and unique.

With so many scents out there you could be wandering around spraying tiny little stink cards for hours. Why not check out one of the classics. It will help cut your browsing time down, and you won’t be disappointed. I can guarantee you will fall in love with more than one of them.
