Have you ever been in the process of buying lipstick and just gave up? There are thousands of options at your fingertips and it can be a little overwhelming. Especially since makeup isn’t exactly cheap, and no one wants to buy something that they will never end up wearing. That’s why I am writing you this cheat sheet. It’s six lipsticks that are universally flattering and that can be used all year round. I chose somewhat expensive brands, but that doesn’t mean much. All you have to do is look at the color and next time you’re out and about, just find its dupe in a cheaper brand. I will say this though, if you only have to buy six lipsticks this whole year, then consider the higher end brand. They last longer and are great color wise. Buying one thirty dollar lipstick and actually being able to wear it is a far cry from having to buy seven ten dollar lipsticks because the color always seems a bit “off”. There are some cheaper brands that are just as good when it comes to lipstick. L’Oreal and Rimmel are both great brands that you can usually find the double for your more expensive lipstick.

Nude- Rouge Dior Lipcolor in Angelique Beigeimage
This is a great creamy nude lip color that works well for everyday or paired with a smokey eye for night.

Pink- Nars Niagara image
This is the perfect pink for every skin tone. It’s not too bright but also doesn’t blend into your skin. Plus it’s still light enough to rock out a darker eye with it.

This perfect deep pink dries to an amazing velvet finish. It’s deep enough that you don’t need to accompany it with much eye makeup. It wakes up your skin tone without having to spend an hour doing your makeup. Yes please.

If you have never tried occ’s lip tar, then I suggest you do. It will become your fave immediately. You apply it with the brush that comes with it for amazing lips every time. The colors are all rich and beautiful, the best part is that it stays on through most of the days activities. This coral is a true coral, without being too harsh.

Red- MAC in Ruby Wooimage
If you ask any of your red lipstick wearing ladies, Ruby Woo has been the go to for a long time. It works with every skin tone out there, which is half the battle. Add a little lip liner and the color doesn’t bleed and it also doesn’t dry your lips out.

Deep Red- Tom Ford Black Orchid Lipstickimage
Mr.Tom Ford has always been known to bring the sexy, so we should have known that when he added cosmetics to his list of products that they would not disappoint. His black orchid lipstick is a deep berry that’s sexy but still ladylike enough that a 1940’s starlet would feel comfortable enough to wear it. You don’t need to be a movie star to wear it though, it’s a shade that looks great on all of us.

Even if you don’t purchase these exact lipsticks, finding these colors is a great investment. You’ll be ready for every occasion when you have these in your makeup artillery.
