Have you ever fallen in love with a friends sunglasses? The person wearing them looks so chic and fabulous that you have to ask to try them on, but when you look in the mirror they just don’t look as good on you. It’s probably to do with the fact you might have a different face shape than they do. Here are some classic face shapes and the best suited sunglasses for them.

*Note: if you don’t know what your face shape is, then trace the shape of your face in the mirror using an eyeliner or lip pencil. Pull your hair back before you start. This will give you a clear idea of what the shape of your face is.

Try- Wide frames that create the illusion of less length. Ovals, oversize round shapes and aviators are your best friends.

Don’t Buy- Any verticals lines or sharp angles that are found in square and rectangular frames.

Try- Angular frames distract from roundness. Square, rectangular and glasses with high temples will be your most flattering styles.

Don’t Buy- Rounded and curved styles will just make the roundness of your face even more pronounced.

Try- All frames that dip between the eyes and break up the width of your forehead will work wonders for you.

Don’t Buy- Styles with hard horizontals across the top and pointed bottoms will bring out any unflattering angles in your face shape.

Try- Curved, oval or round frames with long lenses soften the hard angles of your face and will make your face appear longer.

Don’t Buy- Squares, rectangles and any hard angles will make your face shape appear super boxy and short.

Try- The good news is that you my friend, can wear any style flawlessly. The bad news is, this means you’re probably going to try every style out there. For fun why not try an embellished pair or a cat eye to shake things up and to add some interest.

Don’t Buy- Anything super boring. You have the holy grail of face shapes. Use it to your advantage to set yourself apart from everyone else in the sunglass game.

Whether you’re wearing your sunglasses to actually protect your eyes or to hide your eye bags from the world, you might as well be wearing the most flattering pair for your face shape. It makes a pretty big difference. Time to do a little shopping and get outside to enjoy the sun!
