‘Tis the season for family get togethers, Christmas parties, and fun festivities. I know that traditionally, this is when red and green gets the most action, but if you want to try something different for your Christmas manicure then why not try some gold. It’s dressy enough for the most formal occasion all while holding on to that perfect amount of Christmas spirit. My favorite way to incorporate gold in my manicure is with gold leaf. It’s super simple and you can do it yourself. All you have to do is pick some gold leaf up from a craft store, smooth it into your nails, and cover with a top coat. You can do your whole nail, cut out shapes and use a bit of nail glue to keep them in place for a pattern, or just do an accent nail.image

If gold leaf isn’t your thing, then you have tons of other golden options. You can pick up The Man With The Golden Gun polish by OPI. Basically it’s gold flecks in a clear top coat that add a simple but elegant touch to your nails. You can try straight gold glitter by buying a glitter polish and doing at least two coats, or you can make your own. Just paint your nail, cover in loose gold glitter, and finish with a top coat. You can also try a gold caviar nail by Ciate, it’s beautiful but won’t last as long as your other options.image

The best thing about a gold manicure or accent nail is that it will go with every outfit and accessory that you wear this Christmas season. Plus if you’re lazy like me, it transitions right into New Years Eve. Add it with white for a winter wonderland effect or if you like your manicure more dramatic then try it with a deep red, navy blue, deep green or black. I’m hoping that with my nails looking great, people will notice those instead of the five pounds I’m sure to gain from all of the Christmas baking. I hope you try a gold manicure and that you love it as much as I do.
