So, Halloween is right around the corner. Instead of grabbing a sheet and placing two eye holes in it last minute to transform yourself into a terrible ghost, why not try some easy zombie makeup? The thing with zombie makeup is that it usually looks way more intricate than it actually is. Give it a try!
What You’ll Need
– very light foundation
– white powder (I like Revlon Photo Ready, found at any drugstore)
– black eyeshadow
– dark grey eyeshadow
– white eyeshadow
– reddish brown eyeshadow
– black eyeliner
– fake eyelashes (if you want)
– fake blood (if you want)
– liquid fake skin (if you want)
– deep burgundy lipstick
1. Prep your skin. Start with a clean face and apply lotion.
2. Apply foundation all over your face. I know that you’re probably wondering if it’s going to be light enough, but I find that if you try to use white Halloween makeup it doesn’t go on smoothly and you will be left looking patchy.
3. Apply white powder all over your face, smooth out with a large puff brush and then apply the white powder everywhere again.
4. If you’re using them, apply your fake eyelashes.
5. Apply black eyeshadow in a ring all the way around your eye. Blending out towards where your eye socket ends. Not too much. Concentrate the darkest color closest to your lash line.
6. Take the dark grey eyeshadow and blend it with the black and extend it farther down from where the black was. You should never go past your eye socket. Blend to lighten the edges a bit.
7. Take the reddish brown eyeshadow and apply it over everything you just did around your eye. Blend again.
8. Apply black eyeliner on the top and bottom and smudge all around the lash line.
9. Take the light grey eyeshadow and make two strips on either side of your nose, like you would contouring with bronzer. Blend into the skin.
10. In the hollows of your cheeks, apply the dark grey eyeshadow as you normally would with blush to create cheekbones. Blend.
11. Above the dark line you just made in the hollows of your cheeks, apply the white eyeshadow in a line above it and below it. Blend.
12. Apply some white eyeshadow right under your eyebrow and blend.
13. Outline your lips with the black eyeliner, filling your lips in at the corners of your mouth. Fill lips in entirely with the deep burgundy lipstick. Apply some of the dark grey eyeshadow over top of the lipstick, just in the middle of your lips.
14. Paint your fake latex skin over whatever area you want your open wound to be. You may need to apply it two or three times to get a really nice raised line.
15. Take your black eyeshadow and tap some all over different parts of your fake wound.
16. Apply the fake blood over the fake wound. I like to tap it on with my finger to blend the black in so that it looks oozy. Then, I squeeze the blood tube over it so that you get a couple of nice runny drips that will run down your face.
17. Apply some fake blood around your mouth to make you look like you’ve just feasted on the flesh of the living.
For extra point, add some grey and black under your collar bone to mimic a sunken in chest. There you go! It’s a simple way to get ready for a Halloween night out. You don’t even need an outfit, you can go as zombie you! Plus, you can use a lot of makeup that you probably already have. I hope you all have a happy, spooky and safe Halloween. It is, after all, the best night of the year.
