It’s a written rule that when your doing your makeup you play up either your eyes or your mouth. Never both. That’s the line between well applied makeup and being shot with a makeup gun. Some women feel that a dark mouth ages them, plus if your going to a function where you will be drinking and eating it can be tricky to keep your color in place. For this reason I’m going to focus on bringing out your eyes. You might think this is harder to do than it actually is. The only trick is that you need to know what colors will make your eye color sparkle. It can make a huge difference in how your eyes look. Like taking a picture away from light compared to taking one facing light.
Blue Eyes
Look for earth tones, taupe, slate, grays, rose, silver, turquoise, gold, bronze, and any color in the brown and burgundy families. I have blue eyes and I’ve always found that a copper or brown eyeliner can really make my eyes pop. But seeings how I’m into a lot of drama on my eyes I tend to choose black instead, that’s just my personal preference for myself.
Brown Eyes
Brown eyes look amazing when they are surrounded with purple tones. From violet to lilac purple, they can be an amazing asset to your eyes. Also green, pink tones, champagne and grey are very flattering. Cooler colors like khaki and a deep navy blue can really make them look crystal clear and beautiful.
Green/Hazel Eyes
Deeper purples like plum look amazing on green eyes. Burgundy and deep, warm tones can also do a great job at making the green pop. Warm brown, orange undertones, taupe, and gold are also very complimentary.
There. That’s your “perfect eyes every time” arsenal. You can’t go wrong. They do say that the eyes are the window to the soul, but there’s nothing wrong with giving them a little help now and then.
