Have you ever heard a song that completely changed your mood? The same thing kind of happens to me when I see certain things throughout my day. A color, a dress, flowers ect. My husband always laughs at me because my mind is always in overtime. Always paying attention and always noticing things that to him make no sense. “I wish I had a shirt in this color” as I’m holding up one of my sons markers. He just shakes his head. As much as I look around me for inspiration however, I have favorites that I always go back to. Things that always work. Things that always make me happy. This isn’t a list of things that you necessarily have to follow. It’s just supposed to be used as a peek into my mindset. How I put things together if I get flustered when I’m getting ready. For those days when you feel like you have “nothing to wear” or that “nothing fits right”. And we all have those days. So next time your feeling like that make a list of people that your always drawn to. People who’s style you admire and try to mix a little of their element in with your own. It works. I promise.

Inspiration List

1- Bianca Jagger. This woman was the epitome of 70’s cool. Low cut pantsuits and body hugging wrap dresses. She always got it right.image

2- Rachel Zoe. Seriously. Boho Chic was coined because of this one. She is a master at mixing everything that I love. Fur, gold, boho, flowy…. It’s all so good.image

3- Stevie Nicks. Stevie has the same 70’s spirit but its not as “uptown” as Bianca’s. This is a more laid back look that is easier to mix into every day dressing. And you have to give it to a woman who can rock the shit out of a top hat.image

4- Bridgette Bardot. I enjoy the beauty aspect of Bridgette. That perfect peach lip, the perfect black liner and don’t even get me started on the hair. Her bangs are what a lot of women aspire to have.image

5- Verushka. Oh lord the hair on this one. Absolutely beautiful. She’s the go to for full, perfect, amazing hair.image

6- Britt Ekland. Amazing blonde hair and makeup that still comes off as natural and easy to do. And that tan. Fabulous.image

7- Elle Macpherson. I really enjoy how this model puts her outfits together. She’s always chic without looking over the top. However, her nickname is also “the body” so I don’t exactly feel like googling her when I’m having a low self esteem day.image

8- Kate Moss. Yes she’s one of the most well known models in the world so she’s obviously doing something right. But besides looking good this one knows how to dress. Simple, well mixed and effortless cool.image

9- Kate Hudson. I don’t just mean Kate as Penny Lane in Almost Famous. Which after reading through this list I’m sure you’ve realized I’m completely obsessed with lol. I mean Kate in general. Her low key earth mother look is amazing but when she has to kick it up a notch for a premiere she does just that. All while keeping her natural down to earth vibe.image

10- Nicole Richie. She used to be a huge don’t that turned herself into a fashion do. Big time. She mixes a lot of new with bohemian flair. Something that very few people can master. And she has completely mastered it.image

So there’s a peek into my crazy mind. These are the ladies I think of when I’m getting ready. Be it makeup or hair or getting dressed. Now keep in mind you are NOT going to look exactly like who your drawing inspiration from. I sure as hell don’t. That’s not the point. It’s not to completely lose yourself. Your not playing them in their lifetime story on t.v. Be sure to have the focus on yourself and what makes you feel good and comfortable, and if a little Bianca Jagger can be mixed in there as icing on the cake…well, there’s nothing wrong with that.
