Sometimes when it comes to parties, you don’t need to break the bank to add special touches that will have everyone smiling. You can impress any age on your guest list with some unique ice cubes. They are simple and more importantly, super fun.
Frozen Flowers
All you have to do is place some edible flowers in your ice cube trays before you freeze them. For an even bigger bang, try a whole rose head. It’s absolutely beautiful and is great for showers or girls night.
Herbs
Mint, lemon grass, and basil all are examples of herbs that you can turn into delicious ice cubes. Just imagine all of the new Caesar possibilities!
Fruit
You can freeze fruit slices right into your ice cubes or you can freeze the juice itself. No more watered down drinks.
Ice Cream
The next time you need to whip up a treat for your son or daughter, just pop a frozen ice cream cube out of the ice tray and throw a couple into some milk. Kids love it because it’s a great new take on a milkshake.
Frozen Coffee
I love frozen coffee but I get annoyed when I have half of it left and it’s turned into melted ice coffee. Just freeze some of your coffee and cream mixed how you like and throw those into your iced coffee instead. You can also add a vanilla bean for extra kick.
For The Kids
There are tons of great drink alternatives for kids if you’re having a party. You can freeze crushed Oreos in milk, strawberries frozen in greek yogurt, cherries in almond flavored milk, sprinkles…..lots of sprinkles frozen in milk, and gummy worms frozen in fruit juice to make a fun kids punch. Feel free to let the adults in on the fun as well.
Glitter
Grab some edible glitter on your next girls night out and freeze some in your ice cube tray with water. How fun is that?
Sore Throat Soother
For those days where you’re not feeling great, keep some throat saver ice cubes handy in the freezer. Add lemon, honey and water, then freeze. Pop one into your cup of tea to feel better.
Holiday Cubes
You can easily add a little Christmas cheer to your glass by making cranberry cubes, cranberry and mint cubes, or even by freezing a whole red and white striped peppermint to toss in your guests drinks.
I hope you try some of these cheerful drink accents over the holidays. Your friends and family will love them.
