I’m an out right product junkie. I want to try them all, and judging by my bathroom shelves, I have. Then one day I realized that a lot of products do the same job, they are just worded slightly different. That’s a piss off and a huge waste of money, and space. Here are five products you should keep around and an easy hair style that goes with each.

Pulled Back Styles-Gelimage

Squeeze a loonie’s worth of gel into your palms, rub your hands together and rake the gel through your damp hair, working from scalp to ends. Comb your hair back, up and off the forehead, gather it at the nape of your neck, and braid or leave as a simple pony.

Wet Look-Hair Maskimage

When you’re going out in the sun, you have to protect your hair and its color as well as your skin. Squeeze a toonie’s worth of deep conditioner into your hands and rub into your hair until it’s completely absorbed. Comb your hair, part it and tuck it to have a low maintenance, protected hairstyle in a hot summer day at the beach or pool.

Updo-Hair Elasticsimage

When you’re done your shower, lightly towel dry the ends of your hair, leaving the rest quite damp. Make a ballerina bun by brushing your hair off your forehead and into a slick ponytail secured with a thick elastic band just below the crown of your head. Then, pull the end of the tail through the elastic a second time to create a loopy bun.

Beach Hair-Dry Shampooimage

Beach hair is so easy and in style right now, especially for the summer. When you’re done showering, towel dry your hair and allow to dry completely. Shake your can of dry shampoo, flip your hair over and spray your roots and the underside of your hair. Flip your hair back up and spray along your natural part. Rub into your roots and brush any messy pieces back into place.

Waves-Curling Mousseimage

Finger comb a messy part into place and get rid of any tangles. Use a dollop of curling mousse between your hands and rub all over your hair. When all of the mousse is worked in, then start scrunching with your hands until your hair is dry. This will give you natural, kinky waves.

There are certain products that every girl can use for every type of hair. Hairspray, shine serum, a good conditioner ect. When it comes to actual styling products though, you can get lost in a maze of aisles. These products will cut down on any confusion and the amount of products you’re dragging home. Plus, they can be found in any drugstore and are made by every brand, so you won’t have to use a brand you don’t like. Here’s to looking great, saving space, and saving a lot of money!
