A little while ago I was asked by a company about my favorite beauty products made in my area. So me being me, I researched and tested. I was thrilled about some of the great local products I found. However, I’m not going to blow my load in one shot. I’m going to post about them individually because I feel as though they each deserve their own write up. I haven’t chosen the companies in any certain order, this is just how I tried the products. Today I will be telling you about a great bath and body company right in Winnipeg, Manitoba called Hogwash Bath And Body.
If you haven’t heard of Hogwash Bath And Body yet, then look into it. They are a bath and body company that started in Winnipeg in 2014 after the founder, Charlotte Sigurdson saw that there weren’t many pure, vegan options for bath or body products. She set out to make products that were purely vegan and that contained no animal ingredients, had no artificial colors or scents, and that had no palm oil because it’s bad for the environment. She and her company stuck to their values and accomplished just that.
I asked Charlotte what her personal faves were and also what were some of their best sellers. She personally can’t get enough of the body butter or lip balm while the masses seem to really enjoy the body butter and foot lotion. We are Canadian after all, and it’s winter and dry out. If you have people buying your moisturizing body butter left and right because it works great in a Canadian winter, well, then you’re definitely onto something. I’ve tried and tested a few of the products and want to explain why I fell in love with them.
Moisturizing Shea Butter And Oatmeal Soap in “Winterpig”- $7.50
This soap promises to moisturize with shea butter and exfoliate with ground oats. It has a natural, nutty scent and has no essential oils that make it perfect for if you’re pregnant or for those of you that prefer a toned down aroma. I loved the lather which made my skin moisturized without even having to use lotion and the exfoliant made my skin nice and smooth after. The scent was really nice and light without being too floral which both my husband and son really enjoyed.
Pouty Pig Lip Balm in “Grapefruit”- $4.00
Ok, first of all, I don’t understand why this lip balm is only four dollars. Seriously guys, this stuff is unreal. It’s formulated to heal and protect using shea butter, coconut oil, almond oil and vitamin E. The smell is out of this world and it glides on super smooth. It’s thick, moisturizing and long lasting. Out of all of the drug store lip balms that I’ve purchased in my time, I would take this one hands down. I’ve had to pry it out of two peoples hands since I’ve gotten it. If you buy this, do a purse check before any company leaves because they might be trying to smuggle it out.
Piggy Back Body Butter in “Winter Spice”- $10.00
This was the last of the products that I tried. It’s a rich, whipped body butter made from shea butter, coconut oil, almond oil and vitamin E. There are no preservatives or fillers which makes it great to slather on both myself and my five year old son. It’s super moisturizing and really gets moisture into your skin without being clumpy or thick. It glides on smoothly and leaves a silky, light finish. The scent isn’t too girly for men to use too. Bonus!
I normally don’t talk about products unless Ive used them personally and am super impressed by them. I really think that you would all love these and let’s face it, the price is pretty damn amazing too. I’m happy that I found some new favorites to add to my routine and I hope they become your new favorites too. If you want to check them out:

Ok, I love love love the packaging and the products looked so good I just had to check out their site. I started reading the blog and I think I’ve fallen totally in love with Charlotte and this company!
I can’t wait to get my hands on this stuff. Looks like a trip to the Forks is in order!
