Hey everyone! The other day I posted about styling a glam look that I did for a photo shoot. Today I would like to go over another look that we did. This was the one that the photographer had a real vision of. She wanted it dark yet romantic. She also wanted to use a horse. So here’s a look at how I went about trying to achieve what she had in her mind.
Romantic Styling

So, I love all things vintage. I own so many things that people look at and go “and what do you plan to do with that?”. This dress was one of those things. It was perfect for these photos. It was long, a neutral color and had just the perfect amount of ruffles without being too fancy. Plus, it fit the model. Score. I added a small vest that brought through a bit of an equestrian feel while adding a bit of black. Long, jeweled black earrings, a jeweled black feather necklace, and a diamond ring rounded off the look. Finally, I added short, black high heeled booties that laced up with black ribbon to finish.
Romantic Hair

We knew that we wanted Katie’s hair up and romantic, but yet again had no idea what we were doing when it came to hair. We piled her hair up on her head and fashioned a simple and loose bun with some pieces pulled out so that it wasn’t too perfect. Thank god the photographer is so good because if she wasn’t she probably would have had the hair elastic in every photo. It looked pretty minky in person, but on camera it was exactly what we were going for.
Romantic Makeup

I used a foundation all over her face followed by a dusting of translucent powder. Then, I added some concealer under the models eyes. (Benefit Erase Paste Is the best if any of you are looking for a concealer. I swear by it). Then I combed her brows and added a light bronzer all over her eyelids. Several coats of mascara on the bottom and top lashes finished the eyes. I put the same color of bronzer under her cheekbones and added a small amount on the apples of her cheeks as well, blending. A tiny bit of highlighter under her brow bone and on the tops of her cheekbones added a bit of shine to her otherwise matte skin. Finally, to keep the dark feel we were going for, I finished with a matte black lip done by lining and filling in the lips with some regular black eyeliner.

We were all pretty pleased with the end results. I hope you guys love how the photos turned out as much as we did. Thanks again to Thera and Katie for both doing such a great job. Also, thank you to Dianna and Kaitlyn Fraser for allowing us to borrow a horse without thinking that we were weirdos lol. I’m sure when Katie rolled out to their house with black lipstick on they had to be wondering what in the actual fuck is going on around here. There was a method to our madness though, thanks again for your help, we really appreciate it! To view even more photos from this shoot or to book with Thera, check out below.
