Now that winter is almost behind us, it’s time to pull myself together. There are tons of beauty pick me ups you can do using items you already have at home. There’s no reason to rush out and spend a billion dollars to get the job done. One of these things is a good old fashioned lip scrub. I know that my lips always end up super chapped during the winter. Yes, I carry a vat of amazing chap sticks and lip balms with me at all times, cracked lips is just my fate I guess. Which really sucks if you ever want to get fancy and wear a dark or red lip out. You might as well wear a sign beside your nose that reads “Attention! My lips are falling off!”. So here are some fast and easy ways to make your own lip scrubs. Just take it into the shower with you and scrub away. You’ll never shy away from any color of lipstick ever again.

Depending on the amount you want to make, a little bit will do ya. So try out around a teaspoon of each ingredient first and then add more if need be. You can always make a larger batch if you have a small jar to keep it in. You’re using fresh ingredients though, so keep your end result in the fridge if you want to save it.

Those are some fun lip scrub recipes that I found, but at the end of the day any kind of granulated salt or sugar plus a hydrating agent like honey or coconut oil will do a great job. Get playing around in the kitchen and see what you come up with! It’s a fun experiment to do with the girls, all while enjoying some wine. If you have any of your own lip scrub recipes, then please share them. I would love to know what your favorites are!
