On a hot day you can find me either pouring cold water on myself or making a cold drink. The first of those two options can get confusing/sexy if I have people over. To save yourself from that kind of Flashdance inspired awkwardness, try these delicious lemonade recipes instead. Your company will love them.

Rosemary Bourbon Lemonadeimage

Ingredients

2 sprigs Rosemary, plus more for garnish
1 cup sugar
7 cups water, divided
1 cup lemon juice
Bourbon

Instructions

1. In a medium pot over low-medium heat, gently heat sugar, Rosemary and 1 cup of water until all of the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to steep for at least 20 minutes. Strain and chill.
2. Juice lemons.
3. In a large pitcher, combine lemon juice, Rosemary simple syrup, and the remaining 6 cups of water.
4. Fill glasses with ice. Add 1 1/2 oz. bourbon. Top with lemonade and stir. Garnish with lemons and Rosemary.

Rosé Lemonadeimage

Ingredients

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup rosè wine
1 1/4 cup water

Instructions

1. Combine all ingredients.
2. Chill.
3. Serve.

Rhubarb And Strawberry Lemonadeimage

Ingredients

3 1/2 cups water
1 pound rhubarb cut into 1 inch pieces
1/3 cup honey or agave
3 cups halved strawberries
1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice
Zest of 2 lemons

Instructions

1. In a large pot, bring the water to a boil along with the rhubarb, honey or agave and lemon zest. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 15 minutes. Add strawberries and simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
2. Remove from stove and let cool. Place the mixture in a blender with the lemon juice and purée until smooth.
3. Keep in the fridge until completely chilled.
4. Serve.

Lavender Lemonadeimage

Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup fresh lemon juice
4 cups cold water
3 Tbsp. dried lavender
Ice cube tray

Instructions

1. Boil enough water to fill the ice cube tray. Boiling the water will make your ice cubes crystal clear so that you can see what’s inside of them.
2. Let water cool, then fill tray half way. Freeze. Once frozen, place lavender in each cube and top up with water. Freeze until the cubes are solid.
3. In a medium pot, combine 2 1/2 cups of water with sugar and dried lavender. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Cover, and let stand for 1 hour.
4. Strain out lavender and pour liquid into a large juice jug or carafe. Add lemon juice and additional water. Stir.
5. Refrigerate until cold and serve with lavender ice cubes.

Rose Lemonadeimage

Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup fresh lemon juice
4 cups cold water
1 Tbsp. Rose water
Lemon slices for garnish
Rose petals
Ice cube tray

Instructions

1. Boil enough water to fill the ice cube tray, let cool, then fill half way. Once frozen, place rose petals into each cube, top up with water and place back in the freezer until they are completely frozen.
2. Heat sugar and water on stove to dissolve sugar. Put sugar syrup into the fridge to let cool for 2-3 hours.
3. Juice lemons. Place lemon juice in a pitcher with sugar syrup, water and Rose water.
4. Stir and pour into glasses.
5. Serve with rose petal ice cubes.
